Where do we begin? The Dark Knight was an amazing box office sensation that caught the world by surprise. It was the highest grossing film of the summer of 2008. This movie was absolutely mind-blowing, if you have seen the movie, you understand. For those of you out there that have not seen this film, I urge you to see this masterpiece.
The entire cast was amazing. Christian Bale returns with his role as Batman. He gives an awesome performance as Bruce Wayne, but as Batman he did alright. The only thing that is bothersome is the way Batman speaks... He sounds like a grizzly bear when he speaks.
Heath Ledger truly stole the show with his portrayal as the one and only Joker. Watching this movie, you would think that there was no Heath Ledger. There was only the Joker. I truly believe he WAS the Joker. He gives an Oscar winning performance with his twisted, sick character. The character is very, very, very dark. With a dark sense of humor, so parents be warned that this film is NOT, i repeat, NOT for younger kids. Joker is scary at times, and can frighten younger viewers.
This movie should only be viewed by audiences 13 and up. Again, this film contains frightening scenes that WILL scare younger kids.
Back to the point, the cast was amazing.
Michael Caine returns as Alfred Pennyworth. Rachel Dawes, formerly played by Katie Holmes, is replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Aaron Eckhart plays Harvey Dent/ Two-Face.
I truly recommend to every person 13 and older.
